Blockfall - Complete Game Guide
Blockfall is a columns-style falling block puzzle game inspired by classics like Columns and Puyo Puyo. Columns of 3 coloured blocks drop into a 6-column board, and your job is to arrange them so that 3 or more matching colours line up horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Chain combos multiply your score, and the drop speed increases as your score climbs, making each game a tense race against the rising stack.
How to Play
A column of 3 coloured blocks falls from the top of the board. Move it left or right to choose a column, rotate the colour order within the piece, then let it land. When 3 or more same-coloured blocks connect in any direction, they clear from the board and score points.
- Swipe left/right or use on-screen buttons to move the falling column
- Tap or press the rotate button to cycle the block order within the column
- Swipe down for a hard drop when you are confident in the placement
- Match 3 or more same-coloured blocks in any direction to clear them
Tips and Strategy
- Keep the board as low as possible - a tall stack limits your options and leaves no room for error
- Rotate pieces before dropping to set up vertical matches that can trigger chains
- Use the hard drop only when you are certain of the placement - there is no undo
- Focus on one or two columns for chain setups rather than spreading colours evenly across all six
Scoring
Each match of 3 or more blocks scores points, with larger matches worth more. The real scoring power comes from chain combos - when a clear causes blocks to drop and form a new match, the second match scores at a higher multiplier. Building 3-chain or 4-chain combos is the difference between a good score and a great one. Speed also increases with your score, so efficiency matters.
