Asteroid Drift - Complete Game Guide
Asteroid Drift is a side-scrolling survival game where you pilot a spaceship through an increasingly dense asteroid field. Your ship can only move up and down - each asteroid impact pushes you left toward the danger wall. The game area is a fixed 800x500 pixels regardless of screen size, so every player faces the same challenge.
How to Play
Your spaceship sits near the centre of the screen. Asteroids of varying sizes fly in from the right. Move up and down to weave between them. When an asteroid hits you, your ship is knocked to the left. A slow drift pushes you back right over time, but rapid hits can shove you into the red danger wall on the left edge.
- Use arrow keys (up/down), W/S, or tap the top/bottom half of the screen to move
- Dodge asteroids coming from the right side
- Getting hit pushes your ship left - smaller asteroids hit harder
- Your ship slowly drifts back to the right after being knocked
- Touch the left wall and it's game over
- Score is based on how long you survive
Tips and Strategy
- Watch for gaps between asteroids - plan your path 1-2 seconds ahead
- After getting hit, focus entirely on dodging to let your ship drift back right
- Small asteroids knock you further left than large ones - prioritise dodging those
- Asteroids bounce off the top and bottom walls, so watch for returning ones near the edges
- The speed increases over time - stay calm and keep your movements smooth
- When the WARNING text appears, you're dangerously close to the wall - dodge at all costs
Scoring
Your score increases by 1 for every tenth of a second you survive. There are no bonus points - the game is pure survival. The longer you last, the faster and more frequent the asteroids become, making higher scores exponentially harder to achieve.
